And that’s really the bigger issue here.
I was listening to one of Kris Johnson’s recent podcasts—he does a great job, by the way, and I’d highly recommend it—and he made an interesting point. He essentially said he had no reason to fabricate anything because his reporting isn’t dependent on maintaining favor with the coaching staff. In other words, criticizing the program wouldn’t cost him access.
That’s important context, because not every outlet operates that way. Some “news organizations” are much more tied into the program, and I think it’s worth being cautious about treating every report as objective fact. That doesn’t mean people shouldn’t follow those sources—I do too. Like every obsessed fan, I consume as much information as I can get. But taking everything reported on BRO, for example, completely at face value is probably not the best approach. It can become a bit like relying on a single cable news network for all your information.
