You're giving credit to Cronin for something that has nothing to do with him.
UCLA is a world-renowned university and a fantastic place to attend college. Anyone who went there knows this. Getting a scholarship to attend UCLA is like winning the lottery, and a degree from UCLA is still extremely valuable.
These are excellent reasons to remain there, even if your coach is a prickly, incompetent loser.
