roster: I expect Perry, Petty, Robinson and Freeny to be a pretty good backcourt - despite its relative youth. I think the two PF types to be solid, doing what they do well. Booker is highly talented - let's see what the staff brings out of him now that he's been in the program a full year and has this long off season to work on things - his end season performances were impressive. Can he rebound and defend the paint? We'll see.
Dailey is quite talented. If he can regain his consistency he'll be terrific - as a power forward.
Freeny and Williams can play - they're pretty good on defense and can rebound. If they can score - and Freeny at least was a scorer/shooter in HS - we'll have a complete lineup.
Post and wing are the question marks but I expect this to be a pretty good team. Not at all a horrible lineup.
As for where players could have gone, if the Euros Cronin moved on from could each find a new school, these guys could have also. Not at all true they had no where to go.
Thing is, Devin Williams wanted to stay and was denied. There were rumors of other than basketball matters involved and I know nothing about that, but Cronin let him go and he's clearly not at all happy about it. (Not addressing his complaints about Cronin at all - posted on that earlier)
