Schea Cotton was not a particularly good shooter, not great handling the ball, and didn't physically mature much after the 10th grade. He was an amazing athlete who could power people and dunk. It wouldn't surprise me at all to know he had bodied a skinny Kobe at a young age.

He might have been great if he had grown to 6'9" or switched to football. But his man-among-boys act didn't work once the boys became men. A lot of his legend came from the fact that he was so physically dominant in the 10th grade that you couldn't help but project greatness for him down the line. Like surely, he would get better and better.

But his skill set was pretty limited and his body type was not well-suited to cover other guards at the higher levels. Throw in the fact that he would have been coached by Steve Lavin and I don't think things would have ended up too differently for him.
