I attended the Rutgers game on Saturday. If there is a superior way to spend a Saturday than st a college football game, I simply need to be pouted in that direction. It’s just an amazing day. A W never hurts.

Let’s start with the good:

1. Post game my kids and I had the pleasure to celebrate with the Bruins. It was fantastic to see how happy and excited the players were. They really do seem to enjoy the program. During the game the players were VERY fired up. They were dancing almost the entire game on the sidelines. Rutgers pretty much ran a rave during the game. The freaking music never stopped, even during some fog he play (isn’t that illegal). My takeaway is the players really do enjoy being Bruins.

2. Garbers played a fantastic game. I was told by some Rutgers fans that their LBs were a huge liability and EB and Harbers certainly took advantage of that. We ran the same button hook to the TE at least 12 times.

3. You often hear the sign of a team that enjoys playing is the downfield blocking by the WR on rishing plays. I’m not sure if it translated on tv, but the downfield blocking on the Garbers 50 yard TD was as good as I’ve eeen at ucla.

4. The TEs all played well. They were the key on this game.

5. We won and outside of the first 10 min of Q3, we dominated.

6. The day is picturesque, temp perfect, nice, full stadium and more Bruin fans than I expected. It was almost all Bruin fans at the end of the game. It was Homecoming for Rutgers, so they put on a really good pre-game and even in-game experience.

7. I think the biggest play of the game was Schiano’s TO after first down on the final drive of Q2. He stopped the clock and we wound up scoring a TD. It looked like we were comfortable running out the clock and taking a small lead to half.

The Bad.

1. The coaching is really bad. The sidelines look like a complete disaster. The “coaching” seemed extremely random with people running around like everyone was on fire. Foster didn’t look comfortable in his role yet.

2. Really poor decision making by the coaches. Did we really go for it on 4th and 1 from our own 20? Yeah, we were successful, but you gotta be kidding me. The game as close and could have led to disaster.

3. Did we really try to throw a pass on the last series on third down to end the game when up 2 scores which resulted in a fumble? Just run the fcuking ball.

4. Out okay calling is simply too one-dimensional.

5. Our RBS need to be melded. Harden has no speed and Jones has no power. Personally, I think thr offense runs much better with Jones because we throw the ball so dang much that we might as well use the superior pass catcher who can take it to the house. Neither can pass block worth a crap.

6. Our defensive backfield is atrocious. We STILL haven’t taught our DBs to look back for the ball.

7. The DEs were poor in terms of containment.
