what would an on campus stadium get Ucla.
What is the real goal for Ucla football. Making the CFP is a nice wish list, but I would think the realistic goal is to be competitive in the B10 conference. In order to achieve that, need to spend a pretty good amount of money for not only a HC, but for the assistant HCs. I used a thought in the past that having nice houses for the coaches near campus may be an option to entice some. Don't know if that could happen or not.
With the college football world changing, you need money for NIL and player payment now. You need to entice players through the portal and try to hang onto as many as you can on a yearly basis and still recruit high school.
Ucla has a serious attendance issue that needs to get solve. That is going to take some time if it happens. Probably years.
I would guess a new stadium suitable to compete in a power conference level on the conservative side is $1 billion. I think that number gets a lot higher. As far as a must have, I just don't think its anywhere near anything else for what Ucla football needs right now. Even if it was a possibility right now, I'm not sure what would really be gained and I'm definitely not seeing how to pay that off financially.
