An Historic Season, For All The Wrong Reasons.

It's all been said here.

An incontrovertible nightmare.

And because virtually everything in UCLA intercollegiate sports flows from football, a deep-seated nightmare for one of the leading universities in NCAA sports chips.

UCLA started playing football in 1919 as the Cubs, playing local HS teams as the only comparables available at the time. As we progressed thru the decades, we had stinkers of seasons, including (during the war years):

1-9 in 1940;

1-8 in 1943;

and even an outlier season, decades later @ 2-8 in 1963, nine years after our magical lone football chip.

and, yes, we are very likely to hit rock bottom losing an unprecedented every game this season at 0-12.

I too can't see a path to a single victory this yr. We are the only team in the B10 who hasn't won a game. WE ARE THE ONLY TEAM IN THE B10 WITH A LOSING OVERALL RECORD!

Sure, Chip was a carpetbagger who never gave a flip about UCLA sports, and lammed it out of town when his 35-34 record left him with minimal credibility relative to original expectations. He left the cupboard bare but he wasn't the only culprit.

So, yeah, 0-12 this yr which will severely damage our recruiting and our NIL fundraising. Firing Jarmond would be totally reasonable and should be done this yr, but it won't stop a body blow being firmly delivered in Westwood.

And, it would put added pressure on literally our only candidate for sports savior at UCLA, Mick Cronin, to keep any semblance of a UCLA ship afloat.

It's come down to this....
