of college football. Because at this rate, it’s not even certain there will be a UCLA in college football in 10 years.
Adapt or die.
-You have to pay players. Get over it.
-It’s part of the school’s/coach’s job to facilitate the raising of money to pay players.
-You have to pay top dollar for coaches, including assistants.
-No one cares about X national championships, Jackie Robinson, top public school. Cool. When it comes to football, no one cares.
-You think you can survive on rev share. You can’t.
-You think NIL is going away. It’s not.
-You think football should not be too important at a school like UCLA. You’re probably right. Too bad; people like football.
-You think the fans can be won back with half measures. The fanbase is dying.
-College football is a hyper competitive business where you need to be aggressive in hiring and firing people, and not just coaches.
-The whole culture of the AD needs to be gutted and replaced.
-Football is not like the other sports. The program won’t survive on history, brand, location. You’re on your way to being UCSD.
