This game was a good lesson for the "coaching doesn't matter anymore"

crowd, like Deplorable. The "spend your money on players, not coaches" crowd. The "it's all about the NIL, bro" crowd.

With different leadership, you literally saw a different team. You saw a team taking the initiative with a well-scouted and timed onside kick. You saw some good use of timeouts and the clock. You saw better play-calling. You saw better tackling. You saw a team that didn't fold after some big setbacks like the blocked punt for TD and getting stuffed on 4th down near the end of the game. You saw the kind of sincerity that players respond to in the coaches' pressers, instead of babbled platitudes. Players who looked completely untalented suddenly didn't look so bad when they were arranged and organized better.

This team went from a probable 0-12 under Foster/Sunseri/Malloe to having a chance to win 3-4. With any kind of decent coaching we would have probably been 3-2 right now with a chance at a bowl.

Another defeat for Deplorable.
