I can't remember ever seeing such a turnaround from an individual college football unit that transformed itself from awful to national headline making.
I'm no expert on our coaching staff, but I don't remember the name, Andy Kwon, being the subject of anything.
Andy Kwon, Assistant Coach, Offensive Line.
How did our OL go from the basement to the upset penthouse of the day? Beats the hell outta me, but I can still see all those B gaps and A gaps open up if I close my eyes. And, it wasn't close, viz ~ 280 rushing yds to only 157 for the elite Nittany's run game.
Sure, positive momentum as our Fab Five gathered more and more confidence as the 60 mins played out. The playcalling of JNeu aided the cause by disconcerting PSU's Back Seven. And, of course, the razzle-dazzle of Nico making a LBer or DB miss a key tackle getting him into the 2nd & sometimes 3rd level was huge (a game-high 128 rushing yds).
But, gotta put Andy Kwon's name up in lights for being key to UCLA denting the scoreboard for 42 stunning points, inclusive of milking and sustaining a lead thruout the game ~ a (20-pt halftime) lead that they held onto for dear life.
A lot of heroes to pull off this quasi-historic upset, including one named Andy...
