the "dumb claim" is making a statement about an article based on it's title...and not based on what is actually stated in the article.
TP's long-winded and rambling writing style is a turn off but the article can be summed up accordingly:
"...it doesn't matter if you spend $9 million or $4.5 million a year on your head coach. What matters is if you get the right guy."
