The fact remains that we *should* be better than we have been AND in today's college landscape quick turnarounds are possible.

That also doesn't mention that we're in LA, we have one of the top film schools in the world, with a direct connection to Hollywood (which we should be leveraging for 'real' NIL opportunities, in getting UCLA athletes parts in Hollywood). We're the most desirable public school in the world - that should be able to extend to football (but hasn't since the 90's).
There's also the fact that without a quick turnaround, the recruiting/portal buzz will rapidly die off in today's world.
Additionally, Mora Jr. did it (until he lost his coordinators, and with a big assist to Neuheisel for not leaving the cupboard bare). I think Chesney is better than Mora Jr, but if he can't show it in 2 years (and/or it's not all about injuries, ala Neu's first year where we lost our top 2 QB's in a week, and had to start a walk on), we will see another regression to mediocre talent.
