He realizes that playing well improves the chances of winning more than anything else. So that's his focus: executing properly. Relaying the play. Breaking the huddle. Getting up to the line. Cadence. Reading. Mechanics. Etc.
And I loved this part: You have to use camp and non-official games to try some throws to see if you can make it work. Maybe you have enough arm to do it v some guys. Other guys...no. You have to test the boundaries to see what you can and can't get away with.
If a rookie QB tries to squeeze one in during a pre-season game and gets picked, his career isn't necessarily over.
