local beat writer of an opponent of ours.
Have no interest in parsing the pros and cons of his Bruin analysis above, but did want to comment on one aspect:
I'm reading and watching more and more articles and videos about the huge turnaround of the 2026 Bruins, giving major props to our O Coordinator, Dean Kennedy. From mediots of varied stripes, to opposition coaches, as well as our players.
The run game, most definitely inclusive of our veteran and deep O-line, has been nothing short of sensational. But, what about Nico? Whelp, overall, UCLA has the 16th leading O (total offense yards) in Div 1. Two terms:
1) #16 (of 138); and
2) overall O.
No question the overwhelming strength of Kennedy's O is the run game, yet Nico is still averaging more than 200 passing yds/gm. Nico is sure as hell no elite total package, but he's also our 4th leading rusher (which I'd like to see a little less of for our Slinky Erector Set QB considering we have no one of any substance behind him). Kennedy is positioning him (thus far) to maximally milk the run game and not force him into too many plow-unders on plays where he tucks the pig.
The Dean Kennedy book ~~~ definitely a multi-layered method to his madness, which, to be fair, will be tested to a greater extent this Saturday than in any other game...............plus, we can all spell Autzen....
