His body language was bad during the game. At one point it looked like Chesney was trying to console him after he f'd up. Then, as you said, he did not look happy on the sideline in the second half, even when we scored.
It also looked like Madden started to go in and was surprised/unhappy that he wasn't. It looked like Hitschler tried to manage him and offered him a high five, but Madden passed him up. Even the mom in the stands could be seen mouthing "come on Madden!", so she was probably surprised as well.
Overall, it was not a good day for that family, which has to be especially tough when it was such a good day for the program.
I guess Chesney's hierarchy of Team/Teammates/Self is going to be tested.
Or maybe Nico was hurting from getting twisted and chopped in the neck by Bear Alexander. I thought I read somewhere that his parents were summoned to the locker room. Idk, I'm sure we'll hear more about this in the coming days. I also wouldn't be surprised to hear that Nico has been playing injured pretty much all season.
