Here's the deal with White House Press Secretaries

They come into the job with a bucket of credibility. For every "give the President the benefit of the doubt" situation, they pour out a little of their credibility. Eventualy, the credibility bucket is empty. When the Press Secretaries lose the last of their credibility, they get fired. Then a new Secretary with a new bucket gets hired.

The Press Secretaries actions don't determine this. It's the guy in the Oval Office and how much BS he directs the Secretary to peddle.
