CSUN baseball was one of the top programs in the country, but it was removed (but now reinstated). There were title 9 issues where they didn't have enough female sports slots.
UCLA got rid of their #1 rated nursing program for a while then was shamed to bring it back in the face of huge CA nursing shortages.
