financially manage anything. He should sell the house but most importantly you or someone should be there to immediately guide him in placing the money. Otherwise he will lose it. I would go with him to a place like Fidelity where he can get advice and no commissions. Just make sure you instruct the fidelity advisor to place his money in minimal risk investments with an income stream and leave him around $100k in money market for emergencies or special needs.
