is not going to get them there. There are a lot of people out there who spew out utter nonsense in any area you can think of, including whether the earth is round, who will tell you that they have done their own research.
I think there is a better chance that exposing them to a different worldview in real life and the confidence in which someone says that the earth is actually round, with evidence sited in a setting they can't just turn around and leave may plant the seeds that could lead them to question their constructed reality much down the line. I think making their fiction untenable in real world interactions is one of the keys to deprogramming.
This can obviously bve done in a more polite and respectful way instead of setting up traps like this debate bro kid did. They're kinda self-righteously annoying that way.
