While the MAGA Morons are going after Tylenol which there isn't even any proof.

California is implementing a ban on PFAS (forever chemicals) in various products, with phased-in restrictions. Key bans include those on firefighting foam (effective 2022), PFAS-containing textiles and apparel (effective 2025), and certain PFAS in food packaging (effective 2023), along with broader bans on intentionally added PFAS in some products by 2025. A proposal passed in September 2025 aims to ban PFAS in other products like cookware and cleaning supplies.
Key Bans & Effective Dates
Firefighting Foam: A ban on PFAS-containing Class B firefighting foam took effect in 2022.
Textiles & Apparel: Starting January 1, 2025, manufacturing, distributing, and selling textiles and apparel containing "regulated PFAS" is prohibited in California.
Food Packaging: The ban on nondurable food packaging with intentionally added PFAS or excess concentrations (over 100 ppm) went into effect in 2023.
Cookware & Other Products: As of September 2025, California has passed legislation to ban PFAS in cookware, food packaging, and other items, with a longer transition period for cookware until 2030.
Intentionally Added PFAS: A general ban on the sale of any product containing intentionally added PFAS takes effect in 2025.
Why California is Banning PFAS
These bans are intended to protect consumers from the health risks associated with PFAS, also known as "forever chemicals". These chemicals are linked to cancer, birth defects, and reproductive harm.
