We watched this last night, She won a Nobel Prize and served time in prison in Philippines for reporting the truth about Duterte. She says the US social media companies like FB used the Philippines as a petri dish to test out influencing elections, it worked, and then they used it in the US.
She's very clear in the interview what happened in the Philippines is already here in the US, we ARE in authoritarian rule right now it's just that lots of us don't know it
