My brother in law works at a company that's big in AI, I won't name it. We picked them up at SFO Fri and due to traffic it was a 4 hour ride home. He is in business development and we were talking AI on the way home. He said he can take a 40 page contract and analyze it with AI in minutes where it would take him many hours before. But he did say people have learned they have to be careful.
Several California state agencies have been using AI to review things and then finding out AI made a massive mistake or hallucinated something as you said. One of them involved EDD where they were alleging tons of fraud that now appears to POSSIBLY be entirely an AI hallucination mistake they're having to do a massive detailed review now because EDD insists their findings are wrong because of AI.
