Union contracts protect individual employees from termination without just cause.

They still allow the employer to determine things like the size and scope of their workforce.

Also some employees under ICE like CBP actually are unionized. So there is that.

Abolishing ICE wouldn’t require firing all employees under its umbrella. The constitutive agencies (like customs and border protection) would still exist.

The militaristic hierarchy, fascist Barbie’s press relations team and her boy you would go, along with the cabinet position, but a majority of employees who actually do important work would stay employed. Obviously the goon squad would be looking for jobs too. But f*ck them.
