This is actually a pretty insightful observation about MAGA:
What we're dealing with MAGA, whether in terms of its base or its leadership, is a bunch of people whose cognitive, emotional, and intellectual maturation got arrested at the 12 year old level. That's why they are morally and ideologically unreachable. People whose maturation progressed beyond that point don't even operate at the same level, which is why trying to talk to them is like talking to teen-agers. You'll get frustrated, you'll be flabbergasted by their reasoning, and their esthetic, and their fixations, and their mode of communication, and you will not be able to get a single idea across. They're going to be completely determined that they are right and you are wrong and they're not going to listen.
I firmly believe this is the biggest distinction that separates us from them. Not necessarily whether they believe in science or their intrinsic cruelty, but their maturation level. And everything else, I believe, is downstream from that.
I think that also explains the appeal of MAGA. People who for a longtime had to pretend like they are adults because there was a high social price to pay for immaturity up until the day that the mad king came down the escalator. They can finally let go and be themselves and pay no price for showing their true self.
At their core, they are all a bunch of 12 year olds.
