I rarekly crossed the line from discomfort to pain. It was spotted just as it was breaking out and I was given a special painkiller that targets nerve based pain (I was told) and I've always thought that's what helped me.
I was also really lucky to have it where I did, on my chest on the left side, which prompted the doctors to immediately start looking at my heart, and they found a major cardiac clogging that led to triple bypass before anything was overtly symptomatic.
All this was in the middle of the pandemic lockdowns.
I'm a lucky ba$tard.
