above a party, personal charm gets placed above policy and politics. It's downstream from the candidate centric politics we've been practicing.
The wings were there since the narrative around the Kennedy-Nixon debate shaped up (whether there *really* was that division between those who heard the debate in the radio or watched it on tv is kinda beside the point). The mold was set in that instance and it's just been getting more pronounced.
