for governorship is the one that drags on too long. The underlying problem about the slow vote count will still be there.
There may be other reasons to move away from jungle primaries (I personally think jungle primary + ranked choice voting might be an interesting combination -- though I generally favor more part-centric elections).
Setting a limit on the postmark is a possible solution (not the reception date, as the Fascist Party can't stop demanding, presumably for some nefarious reason). But perhaps we need to reconsider how many people we have counting the votes. There is a bottleneck to the process and it's just a matter of identifying it and addressing it.
Maybe you start counting the mail in votes before the bigger chunk comes in just to get a head start... I dunno. We're supposed to be a smart state with a lot of brain trust and bold ideas. Someone somewhere must have some solution to this.
