The census data is another example of lying with stats.
The general poverty number was in decline until Trumps first term he had the first increase in years. then Covid hit and skewed all the numbers. Biden brought the number down every year and left it at 10.6, the trend continued in 2025 to 10.2 and Trump is taking a victory lap. What he doesn't mention is the Supplmental number is now 13.1 the highest it's been in about a decade, that's the number that includes people who are on government assistance the general number omits the people who are so poor they need government help.
The numbers are from 2025 BEFORE Trump kicked 5 million people off SNAP and jacked up everyones insurance. If you ask google if you simply add 5 million people to the general rate what is the new percentage it says 11.7 which would be one of the highest recorded numbers in history. And this stat didn't start being kept until about 1968 so saying in history is kind of silly it's about 60 years.
So if things stay the same, and they are getting worse, that number will be much higher for 2026.
All you have to do is follow some of the stuff about oil prices which are starting to spike gas and diesel prices. theres a rumored Truckers strike if that happens we're going to have disruptions. Diesel is going to make everything more expensive. Stations are running out of diesel.
I know for a fact some companies are lobbying Trump to have mandatory hybrid work in effect telling companies to work from home 2 or 3 days a week to reduce the need for gas. I know this because people I worked with at Google before I retired are being asked by google right now to put together a plan for return to hybrid, but Google and other companies
Want Trump not them to be the ones who announce it because trump has been so hardcore on return to work they need him to be on board.
They're also about to ban exporting diesel but they're too late China and Russia did it earlier and now play a huge role in the global market, US would be too late and would just look desperate. The bond markets are out of control right now we're literally buying our own debt to try and contain them.
