Today's tech is so powerful, it is possible to get by without all that basic knowledge that is so easily available. Information and competent analysis is always available instantly. And all is good until the machines break down.
Perhaps the mindset for those people if the machines break down they have adult minds and can learn the basics if need be. But the machines have not broken down so quit your worrying boomer.
