CEOs, by definition, are pople who are trained to think in high level terms and not worry about the details. (I'm not talking about founders who started from scratch with a technical background, but those who came out of an MBA mill to be CEOs)
They also happen to be people who can't think in details. Their professional (and personal) skills are about other people from similar stations in life whose job is to make decisons about other people, not building things or even dealing with people who build things. So I'm not surprised the least bit that he said what you report he did (didn't watch the interview). I'm surprised that anyone (= Ezra Klein) is actually paying attention to them to supposedly extract some wisdom that they imagine this class of people have.
These are the aristocrats of our time. And like aristocrats, thet fancy themselves to be above the concerns of regular people and the trivial things that are important in our lives Luke our phone numbers etc. I'm sure he has someone who takes care of his phone number for him while he's happy to remind us that he's a special boy that we should look up to. Nobody goes to an aristocrat for wisdom, do they?
