It was actually on CBS news and the Iranian president said they released prisoners in exchange for funds releasing by Trump and a couple of prisoners. Trump didn't release the funds or the prisoners.
Trump had gone on tv in July saying he'd negotiated the release of a wrongfully detained US citizen by Iran, Iran then publicly called him out for lying saying she had been released on bail and was sent back to the US because she suffered a massive heart attack, Trump played no role at all in her release.
He didn't like that so when Iran did release several other prisoners, Trump apparently reneged on the deal.
So the president was asked by CBS would it not show good will to just release everyone and he called out that Trump and the US aren't acting in good faith.
