REpublicans are now sharing a meme that says A vote is not a valentine you're not confessing your love for a candidate. It's a chess move for the world you want to live in.
Well they slightly altered the quote but what they apparently don't know is who said it and why. Rebecca Solnit said it in 2016, in an article in an article in the Nation. What was it about? She was trying to convince people they didn't need to love.... Hillary Clinton, to vote for her because the alternative was Trump! That they needed to vote to move the world in the direction they wanted to live in. You don't need to love Clinton you just have to say which candidate is going to guide the world the direction I want, the answer for her was Clinton. She's also a lifelong feminist who has written about the danger of toxic masculinity, the manosphere and things Trump has popularized
So the right wing is trying to convince their base to vote red with a quote that was literally telling people NOT to vote red
