A new wave of polling came out on Wednesday and Thursday that—if it bears out—would mean Republicans are in for apocalyptic losses on Election Day.
The surveys came from respected polling outfits, all of which found that President Donald Trump’s abysmal approval ratings threaten even Republicans in House districts that Trump won by double-digit margins in 2024.
For example, a new Franklin & Marshall College poll in Pennsylvania released Thursday morning found Democrats with a 14-percentage-point lead on the generic ballot in the state. That should be more than enough for Democrats to flip all four GOP-held seats currently rated as competitive by The Cook Political Report: Pennsylvania’s 1st, 7th, 8th, and 10th districts.
