I'm in Edmonds right now we're going home tomorrow this is all over the news. Everyone says it means they will do more layoffs after. The idea is they want the people that want to leave, to leave on their own take the buyout. Then the next round is which people the company WANTS to leave get laid off.
When Amazon did big layoffs people were protesting by Bezos' boat I would imagine they will have similar actions with Microsoft now.
