We have one elite starting pitcher. We've pushed all year to develop the other three, hoping one would show to be reliable against strong opposition. They're young - who knows what their potential is - but none of the three has emerged. My impression - and I follow a lot less closely than some others here and not even in the obvious poster's league when it comes to softball - is that Cable is our best hope. But she has a history of giving a couple good innings (give or take) and then losing her control and getting pounded.
Tinsley game one for sure. Tinsley game three. Game two is about strategy rather than just power. Go with Tinsley and risk wearing her out? Go with the others and hope our bats will prove enough to gain us a next game here?
It's just the conference, not the NCAA's so the obvious choice is the latter one - rest Tinsley - strategy first. Use Tinsley only if necessary and only an inning or two at the most.
In the NCAA's, you rolls your dice and you takes your chances....
