I gotta say, it was sad. Our fans are so often too cool to cheer. Today was absolutely that. The 50 or so SMC fans made more noise than the UCLA fans did. I’m obnoxious and pretty much don’t gaf, I was trying to get a Let’s Go Bruins going between 1/2 innings. Got some claps, but I was by myself yelling. There was no cheering other than random yelling the batter’s name. We gotta have the worst home field advantage in D1 baseball.
I’m pretty surprised that there wasn’t a spirit squad there leading 8 claps. Or something. Given the level of support we’re are damn lucky to have such a damn good baseball team to cheat for. And if they crash out this round, they had a better season than the fan base and the spirit support from the school deserves.

That said, it was my first trip to Jackie Robinson. Great setting, easy to get to, with the shuttle. Had a fun time despite the L.
