So he had one down year in the SEC. Eight teams above them made the NCAA tournament. Before that he made the tournament every year with two Elite Eights and a Sweet Sixteen. At Nevada he won the conference three years in a row.
Plenty of coaches who made the Final Four never got close again.
He also has NBA head coaching experience. Took over a terrible Golden State team and improved by 17 games, with the most wins in more than 10 years for the franchise and was runner-up to San Antonio's Gregg Popovich in NBA Coach of the Year Award voting.
