I was curious about the competition the Bruins would face (size wise in the paint) this year in their new conference. So I looked at the individual rosters to see what was there. Here is a breakdown by team of players above 6'9 that are listed by team on the CBS sports network.
Michigan--two 7 footers and one 6'10
Mich State--one 7 footer, two 6'11, one 6'10, one 6'9
Iowa--one 6'11, one 6'10, one 6'9
Wisconsin--one 7 footer, one 6'11, one 6'10, two 6'9
Minnesota--one 6'11, one 6'10, two 6'9
Nebraska--one 7 footer, three 6'10
Illinois--one 7 footer, two 6'10, two 6'9
Indiana--two 7 footers, one 6'10, two 6'9
Purdue--two 7 footers, one 6'11, one 6'10, two 6'9
Northwestern--two 7 footers, one 6'10, one 6'9
Penn State--one 7 footer, one 6'11
Maryland--One 7 footer, one 6'10, two 6'9
Rutgers--three 6'10, two 6'9
Ohio State--two 7 footers, one 6'10, one 6'9
Oregon--one 7 footer, three 6'9
Washington--one 6'11, two 6'10, one 6'9
USC--two 6'10
UCLA--one 7 footer, two 6'9
A league total of 18 seven footers (5 of them a bit taller than 7 foot), ten 6'11, twenty two 6'10 and twenty four 6'9. 74 players over 6'9, maybe that's why they call it the BIG :-)) Of course not all of these are impact players but many are.
