In the AP, UCLA got a few votes and placed 11th behind 10 other BIG teams in the top 25 and those receiving a higher number of votes (Purdue, Wisconsin, Oregon, Mich State, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Nebraska, Ohio State and Maryland).
In the Coaches poll, they did a little better finishing #7 in votes (17) behind the 6 BIG teams in the top 25 ahead of them (Purdue, Wisconsin, Oregon,Illinois, Michigan, Mich State) but those 17 votes placed them behind 8 other non BIG teams outside of the top 25.
Looks like they have their work cut out for them if they are going to impress these voters. But the women's team is #1 and seems to be setting a high bar for the men's team.
