more likely, opposition bench players, are not the same as those equivalent minutes against the other team's starters.

If CMC designates his best C, his best PF, his best wing, his best SG and his best PG as starters, why would he choose to have any of them come off the bench in terms of matching up *less* against the opposition's best players/starters?

Sure, a head coach could bolster the play of his bench by shifting one of his best players (i.e. a starter) to that unit. But, in contrast to the opposition, you're then inserting a UCLA bench player to start and set the opening pace of the game against the opposition's best counterpart to Dailey.

As I responded, look at CMC's tendencies, as well as those of the vast majority of HCs. While you notated equal mins, how many bench players ever fill that bill of substitute starter?.......as I doubt you or anyone else here on BZ would want to return to the wild & crazy days of Lavsferato and lucky charm Sean Farnham? UCLA has Mack in that role albeit he plays several mins less than the UCLA starters. And, Mack is a microwave to hopefully heat up the O, which is not Dailey's game.

If Dailey comes off the bench, then you had the correct insight. But, since we all tend to look at CMC's tendencies, again, I just can't see that happening.
