who they're likely to beat, or get beaten by.

The bracket guys basically just look at what everyone's record is and where they'd be seeded if the tournament started tomorrow.

For instance, Missippi is 5-6 in Quad 1 games and has no Quad 2, 3 or 4 losses. They probably have 5 more Quad 1 games but they're prohibitive underdogs to Auburn, Tennesee, and Florida. Best case they end up 7-9 in Quad 1 games, which is good but not great.

Missouri is 4-4 in Quad 1 games with no losses in other quads. They only have one prohibitive loss left on their schedule, against Tennesee, but they only have one prohibitive victory also, against South Carolina. The other 8 games are basically coin flips. It's hard to predice where they end up but they'll probably have more Quad 1 losses than wins, and could easily pick up some Quad 2 losses as well.

Eventually, the B1G, Big-12, and SEC teams are going to beat each other up. If UCLA can be the beaters and not the beaten, as you pretty much said, they'll be in good shape.
