Some folks here don't seem to understand that anyone lower than a #4 seed has ZERO priority when it comes to placement in a regional or 1st and 2nd round sites. That priority goes to the top four seeds and placement of those teams determines where everyone else goes. Sometimes you get lucky and draw a game closer to home, but usually not. There are many criteria the committee has to follow which forces teams into certain spots. For example, avoiding early round conference matchups and adhering to the s-curve for the top teams. This season, the top four SEC teams as top-4 seeds had to be placed in different regions.

So all the "We got screwed" folks just haven't been paying attention. Those who think it's simple to just swap sites for two games don't have a clue how this all works. Since 1994, UCLA has been seeded #5-8 eight times and have NEVER played the first round anywhere near home. Just once have they been placed in the West region. This has created some very disadvantaged matchups like playing Florida in Tampa, Villanova in Philadelphia and Tulsa in Oklahoma City. Don't like it? Tough. Then earn a higher seed.

YEAR SEED 1st ROUND REGIONAL
2013 6 Austin SOUTH
2011 7 Tampa SOUTHEAST
2009 6 Philadelphia EAST
2002 8 Pittsburgh WEST
2000 6 Minneapolis MIDWEST
1999 5 Indianapolis SOUTH
1998 6 Atlanta SOUTH
1994 5 Okla City MIDWEST
