as opposed to the off-the-street neutrals you get for football games.
My observation/recollection was that once it became clear Richmond was a real opponent, the crowd got real quiet. The Richmond cheerleaders were louder than the crowd. I'm not joking. But, the crowd started waking up during a TO, a little louder. Then, Londyn hit her first three and the crowd exploded. From then on, you couldn't ask for a UCLA BB crowd to be any better.
Weird thing - the only 2 UCLA WBB games I've been to were this and the SoCaro game. Pauley was muuuuuch more crowded for SoCaro. Ya, SoCaro had more fans than Richmond, but there were a lot more UCLA fans at that game, too. I guess the chance to see your team knock off the undefeated, 2 time defending champion was greater than seeing us playing an 8 seed in the tourney.
But, yes, in the 2nd half, the house was rockin'.
Near celebrity sighting. Wife said that Trent Perry walked by while I was in the bathroom. Cool that he was there supporting the ladies.
Celebrity observation. Maybe I missed guys that they showed on TV? But, if I didn't, it would be nice if some of the UCLA hoops legends would have come out to the game - Kareem, Jamaal, EOB & COB, and many many others. Like I said, maybe they showed them on tv and I just didn't see them.
