Of course they should schedule some tough games and some easy games early to prepare for the season. They have done that.
My problem is that I pay a lot of money for season tickets and they should at least schedule some more competitive non-conference home games. Those cupcakes consist of almost half the home games. They don't have to be NCAA tournament contenders but these are BAD teams who lost 20 or more games last season. At least schedule some with potential winning records.
Take USC for example. They play seven non-con home games and five of them had winning records last season.
