There are two philosophies concerning non conference

scheduling. One is pile up tough games to get one's team prepared for conference play. The other is to give your team time to develop against so-called easier schools so when they get into conference they are a well functioning team and you've had to time to experiment and get your rotation settled. Both approaches are legitimate. I would like to see 1 or 2 added blue blood programs along with Arizona and Gonzaga. It would be nice to see two other schools like Kansas or Duke or St. John's or UCONN, etc. But all in all I think the non conference schedule is okay - not great but okay. There's 5 D1 schools and some cupcakes. I think Cronin is thinking that the "easier" no conference play will get them ready for conference play and the tough B1G play will get them ready for the tourney. Let's see if it works out that way.
