Unrealistic expectations.

He wasn't going to start over Dent and Clark. Coming off the bench with limited minutes, he shot threes at a very good 38.5% and free throws at 77%. His rate of scoring (17.7 to 18.4 points per 40 minutes) was almost equal to Clark (and greater than Dailey's) and had a greater rate of assists (4.1 to 3.1 assists per 40 minutes) and virtually the same A/TO as Clark. (Perry stats not including Penn St.)

His defense wasn't quite as good as the others, but as the youngest and least experienced player in the main rotation, that could be expected. If folks here were expecting an athletic high scoring guard, they weren't watching him in high school.
