I'm not faulting anyone. I believe Cronin did the best he could. He needed a point guard and went after the best available. He needed shooting so he went after shooters. He didn't have as much money as some so after getting Dent, which everyone at that time thought that was a really good move, he brought in the best he could afford. After Mara left or was poached he quickly brought in the best he could get at that late date and someone he could also afford. In fact he brought three 5's in. So with his limited funds after getting Dent he brought in 5 guys trying to cover as many needs as possible. I thought he did a good job. No one could have anticipated the injuries nor Dent and Dailey under performing. The 5's were a gamble from the get go and they didn't pan out the way he had hoped for. Brown was also a gamble that somewhat worked out in a limited way. If UCLA wants better players they're going to need more money.
