I realize that everything had to fall into place perfectly for our 2021 run to the Final Four, but I was curious how our current team compares to that team at the end of the Pac-12 tournament.
I looked at our numbers before we played Michigan State and compared them to our current numbers. In most respects this team looks better than the 2021 team did.
There are two glaring exceptions:
Rebounding. The 2021 team wasn't a great rebounding team, but this year we are much worse.
Road and Neutral Site games: The 2021 team wasn't great, but this team is significantly worse.
The neutral site games will likely be harder this year. In 2021 we played in empty gyms. This year, we are likely to face hostile crowds.
