There is a very good chance that this is the best UCLA wbb team that there will ever be. On paper, it is one of the most talented teams in history. 6 Seniors that will be drafted, plus Sienna.
We will probably never be this good again. I hope the UCLA community still supports the team when they are not competing for NC's.
That said, here's my wish list that I've posted before.
First, yes, Hidalgo would be an incredible pick-up and players have already left that program. She'll cost $$$$$$$$$$, but she's worth it. And, yep, Crooks is a hell of a player. I feel like she and Sienna would get in each other's way, though.
Players that I've seen this year that I would love to pick up, who I don't think??? would break the bank: Fiso and Etute from Oregon are very good. As has been noted, there's no way we get Howell from UW, but if we could, she's outstanding, Parchment (Illinois, I think) is a 6 foot Freshman banger that shot the lights out against us. Fournier from Duke - we won't get her, but she's incredible, and might not break the bank. Tennessee is falling apart, I like Civil and Pauldo from that team. Pauldo can go just about toe to toe with Harmon from Texas. Civil was a superstar out of HS, is a Freshman, has a sweeeet shot, and I think is suffering from the fact that Tennessee insists on playing 10 players.
Since I'm babbling: the one that got away. Of all the transferers from last season, I think Aarnisalo is the one we'll miss. She went 40 minutes in NC's last conf tournament game. Hit 40% on 3's and had a great A/T ratio. Her season numbers aren't as good, but she'll continue to improve. And being too good for the coach to rest even one minute on a top 20 team says a lot.
