The experts seem to be in 2 camps about conference tournament wins and losses.
One larger camp pores over each game, and asserts that Team A has to beat Team B to get a big, or to get a particular seed.
A smaller group says conference tournament outcomes have a little influence for teams on the bubble and even less for seeding. For teams on the bubble it is one result in a thirty+ game season, and it is just a minor data point.
As for seeding, by Thursday of this week, the committee already has most of the bracket filled in. Since they have so many rules to follow about who cannot meet in various rounds, they don't want to make many changes after Thursday.
I put forward the threory that beating Michigan State was enough to get us to the #7 line. BracketMatrix doesn't show any movement this week, no matter how many games we win or who that was ahead of us lost to.
I am still hoping for a 7 tomorrow, but I expect an 8.
As for today, I hope for no injuries. The ghost of Jordan Adams still haunts me.
